Gown Fitting # 2: Mi Sueno Bridal

Last Saturday, Mox and I went to the Mi Sueno Bridal Boutique in Makati to fit some more ready-to-wear wedding gowns. My chosen gown peg is actually a Pronovias gown, and since Mi Sueno is the exclusive distributor of Pronovias wedding gowns here in the Philippines, I would know whether or not my gown design would look good on me

When we arrived at the boutique, I was given a catalog where I could choose the gowns that I plan to fit. I actually saw my chosen gown peg, but unfortunately, it was not part of the gowns available for fitting. :(

The attendant asked me if I had any gown design/style in mind, so I specifically asked a tulle/lace gown, a mermaid gown and a gown with a dropped waist. I wanted a tulle gown because I always loved the dreamy effect tulle brings to the gown, and I chose the mermaid and the dropped waist silhouettes to see if these silhouettes would complement my body type.

Mi Sueno has a large and cozy fitting room, although the only thing that I didn't like was the curtains were too see-through. Nagkurtina pa sila kung makikita ka rin naman sa labas. Haha! Also, they didn't have a bathrobe to cover me up while I change, so I had to walk around the fitting room in my undies while the attendant was arranging the gowns that I would fit. Pakapalan na lang ng fez ito.

The first gown that I tried was a tulle and lace ballgown. I like its lacy bodice but the skirt was just too poofy that it actually made me look shorter. Plus, even though tulle is a light fabric, the skirt was actually very heavy because it has lots and lots of layers. Baka di ko na siya mabuhat

By the way, I apologize for the crappy photos. Mox was just too busy playing Candy Crush that he couldn't stop for a minute to take a decent picture. Hmp! Also, most of the gowns are in sizes 4 and 6 so most of them would not fit me properly. Kaya medyo malaki tuloy siya tignan sa pictures. Apparently, I'm a size 8 so the attendant had to use some clamps to help close the gowns. Nakakainsecure tuloy magsukat. Haha!

The second gown was a satin gown with a sweetheart neckline and a dropped waist. I like how the corset bodice was able to give me some curves! Plus, it actually elongated my torso, making me look taller! This was my favorite out of the four gowns that I tried.

Next was a lace mermaid gown. As soon as I put it on, I knew right away that the mermaid cut wasn't for me. Since the skirt flared near my knees, it cut down my height, making me look shorter again. I also didn't like the straight neckline. Sweetheart necklines look way better on me,

Lastly, I tried another dropped waist gown, this time with a bustle on the skirt and a belt. Again, I love how slim and tall the gown made me look. The belt adds a nice touch of elegance to it as well.

Obviously, I won't be getting any of these gowns because the prices were just too much. Imagine, the second gown that I tried costs P97,000! You can have a custom-made gown with that rate! But still, at least I was able to know that a dropped waist gown looks best on me. That's actually a good thing because the gown peg that I chose has a dropped waist. Plus, it is also an A-line gown, so it would hide all my flaws. Now I'm even more excited to have my gown made and to see it in person. :)

Let the One Year Countdown Begin!

After almost 1.5 years of waiting, we have finally reached the last 12 months of our wedding preps! :)

The road to our one-year countdown was a bumpy one; we had a few ups and downs, with lots of arguments in between. Haha! Still, I am happy with what we have accomplished. Imagine, we still have one year to prepare, and yet we have already booked most, if not all, of our major suppliers. We even did one prenup shoot and I had not one, but two boudoir shoots! :)

So we're taking things slow for now. We still have some suppliers to book, DIY projects to make and a few details to be finalized, but we are not in a hurry to do these things. After more than a year of rushing to do wedding preps, I guess it's time now to just relax and enjoy everything, especially since Mox has finally came to his senses and would now help me in our wedding preps. Haha!

Right now, the next thing in our agenda is to have Mox finalize his guest list. He has the difficult task of trimming down his guests to only about 90. Good luck na lang sa kanya. Gusto niya kasi imbitahan ang buong mundo eh. Haha! In the meantime, I have scheduled an appointment for tomorrow to fit some gowns in Mi Sueno Bridal Boutique just to see which silhouette best fits me. Can't wait for that! :)

Need Your Prayers :(

I'm sorry, but I badly need your prayers my dear friends. Earlier today, Bacon, my 1 1/2 year-old shih tzu, was attacked by our big askal, Maki. I did every thing that I could to separate them, even pulling Maki by his collar at the risk of getting bitten myself.

Bacon suffered a broken jaw and some scratches on his body because of the attack. He's now currently confined at the Animal House in New Manila and will have surgery either tomorrow or on Wednesday to fix his fractured jaw.

Please pray for my baby. :( He is stable now but I'm still paranoid because I keep picturing his bloodied face and his cries while he was being attacked. I feel so guilty because I wasn't able to protect him from Maki. So please, I badly need a prayer brigade. :(

Boudoir Take Two

After almost a month of waiting, we finally got our pictures from Boudoir Le Blanc! Whee! :)

This time, I only got 50 photos out of the possibly hundreds that were taken during our shoot. These 50 photos were all edited and are supposedly the best out of the bunch. Still, I would have preferred to receive ALL of our photos, raw and edited. Some of the chosen photos were not to my likingnot because the pictures weren't good, but because I hated the way that I look! Ang awkward tignan!

I'll probably find better photos in the rest of the pile, but since we don't have the raw pics, we have to make do with the chosen 50. We could get a copy of all edited photos, but that would cost an extra P5,000! So obviously, that's a NO. Haha!

Nevertheless, I still love my pictures! The editing was super flawless. Ibang level talaga ang Digital Belo kasi lumiit ang braso ko! Plus, I looked so sultry, seductive and sexy without being too bastusin. In short, pwede na akong maging Victoria's Secret model. Haha! Feelingerang palaka lang ang peg.

Here are three of my favorite pictures in my album. I haven't shown this to Mox though, so let's just hope he wouldn't read my blog this time. Hehe!

Another Wedding Promo Win!

I've been joining wedding promos left and right after I won a freenup from Aisle 1401, but I got disheartened afterwards since I didn't win any of these contests. So I was a bit hesitant to join the new contest sponsored by Sis Jen of W@W. She teamed up with Moki Gray (Designs), Clarissa Ines of Pixels and Ink and Ms. Elyn Cordova of Concepts & Technology to give one lucky winner a free invitation suite layout (which includes main invite, ento page, RSVP and map) with free calligraphy services and 25% discount for the printing. Now that would be a big help for all brides-to-be! :)

Three days before the contest would end, I decided to send in my entry anyway because one, it never hurts to try; and two, I know winning this would end our invitation dilemma. You see, I really didn't want to spend too much on our wedding invitations, especially since I know guests would probably throw them away afterwards. I was actually okay with the thought of sending them an e-invite instead (diba, ang kuripot lang?), but noooo, Mox wanted something that is cute and quirky. Biglang nag-inarte ang groom ko. Haha! Moki Gray's designs fit the bill, so if ever I would win this thing, I could give Mox the perfect invitation for his dream wedding. Ang sweet ko noh? Chos. Haha!

There were a lot of great entries so I was not expecting to win, but earlier today I saw sis Jen's status on Facebook:

Then I saw this poster on her blog:

I can't believe that I actually won!!!! Okay fine, I may not be the grand winner, but being a runner-up still made my day! Because of that, I have won a free customized monogram by Clarissa! Yey! :)

And not only that, Jen, Moki, Clarissa and Ms. Elyn are so nice that they even gave some freebies to non-winners! So I, as well as all of the other brides/grooms who joined, won a free poster layout by Moki plus a 5% discount on the printing services of Concepts & Technology! Happy me! :)

I can't wait to see our monogram and poster! I guess my efforts to join really paid off. :) Thank you Jen and the rest of the gang for this wonderful gift. Now I'm slowly getting excited with our wedding preps again. :)

Photobooth: Booked!

Since photobooths seem to be the default souvenirs for the guests, Mox and I decided to search for the most affordable photobooth supplier in the market. At first, I wanted a photobooth that offers multiple printing at an affordable price. Most photobooths would print out only one photo per group. So if there are around five of you in the picture, only one of you would get the actual printout. Jusko, mag-aagawan pa kayo sa picture nun.

But then I thought that a photo magnet was a better idea because then you could put your photobooth pictures on your fridge. Ang cute diba? Out of all the photobooths that tried, we fell in love with the photo magnets from Contact Live Photography or CLIP Photobooth.

I've been hearing great reviews about CLIP Photobooth from W@W, and I love both of our photobooth pictures from them when we tried them during the Themes & Motifs bridal fairs. Just a disclaimer: the photos are crappy because I just scanned them, but I assure you that the printing of these pictures is superb. Hehe.

These are all 4x6 photo magnets, but I wanted something different for my souvenirs. Luckily, CLIP Photobooth offers a variety of souvenirs. They not only do the conventional photo print with a standee, but they can also print your photos on mugs, flipbooks, magnetic bookmarks and even playing cards! Astig diba?

The package that I got from them is called the Magnetic Strips Plus package. It's this cute idea where the first three photos will be printed on a 2x6 magnetic strip. The last photo will be printed on a 2x6 premium photo paper where the guests can write their dedication to the couple. The strips will then be compiled and handed out to the couple. May instant guestbook na kami! Yey! :)

I didn't book them during the bridal fair, but luckily, they had a promo where we would get an additional hour plus free upgrade to a virtual background if we'd book them before February ends. So I was able to get the photobooth for three hours for just a price of two hours! What a steal! :)

We plan to add another souvenir though, but I have to consult my parents for that since it's their gift to us. So in the meantime, the photobooth will be our main gift to our guests. :)
